Is it better to hire an attorney to do all the paperwork, or is it easier and cheaper to do it on your own? If an attorney is better, can you recommend on in the Dallas area? Thank you all for your help!!
I would suggest that it is a bit soon for an attorney, as you do not seem to have sufficient legal basis for your girlfriend to immigrate (who I assume is a Venezuelan citizen with no US relatives).
Letters of invitation and other methods etc could secure longer and more frequent temporary US visas for up to a max 180 days in a calendar year. Legal advice could help here.
However until you are married, or unless your girlfriend is highly skilled enough to qualify for immigration on her own: full and legal residency for her is not going to be possible.

I want to at least delay the mutilation of my trees by our electric delivery company (Oncor). They have done horrible things all over Dallas to trees and want to destroy my 55+ year old magnolias that are in my front yard because they "pose a safety and reliability risk".
If Texas is anything like most other states, you don’t just "file an injunction." The basic steps are: file the correct petition (or whatever it’s called in Texas) in the correct court with the correct filing fee; have it served on the correct opposing party; they answer; then you can schedule a hearing on various motions or on the ultimate issue.

The ticket is coded "SO" and "DWL": what do these mean?
Also, do I need an attorney? I don’t want to plead guilty as I inadvertently weaved into the HOV lane while trying to avoid a truck, and I don’t want this on my record.
Dallas? LOL……..that’s where I’m located too…………
Hire a traffic ticket lawyer, they will help you get it off your record. Plus if you just pay the fine in full, it will remain on your record, my husband had a driving with suspended license and he took deferred probation and it will come off his record. Something to think about! Also the attorneys I work for do expunctions……if you pay the fine in full, you can hire an attorney to have it expunged. (another way to get if off your record)
